Innovative Animal Care Equipment for Compassionate Life-Saving Research

"For over 20 years, we have been using Lab Products ventilated racks platform. Our experience with these racks has been very positive. We started with a couple of racks more than 20 years ago, and now we have more than 50 racks that are used to house multiple laboratory animal species. Some of the advantages that have been essential for us with this animal housing platform include the fact that these racks are very easy to maintain since the cages have few parts and components, the replacement cost is very low. Another advantage we've observed is that even though the racks we initially purchased had different supply and exhaust blowers and control systems, different from current technology, we were able to upgrade all of them without ending up with obsolete equipment or parts that are no longer available. To this day, all of the older and newer racks can be outfitted with all necessary parts and replacements, and we do not have any racks out of operation. Another advantage that Lab Products animal housing platform has provided us is that we have been able to adapt to changes in our laboratory animal housing needs, as the racks offer greater flexibility and versatility to house multiple laboratory animal species. Our animal facility does not depend on engineers or incur in additional costs to maintain the racks we have, as their maintenance is very easy and straightforward, requiring no specialized technicians. Recently, our newer animal facility, which was the first to win the Turnkey award in Latin America, celebrated its 10th anniversary, and the racks are still in the same condition as when they were acquired and function without any issues. We can even calibrate the racks and certify them with our own cage control systems making sure the racks are always working according to the factory settings."
